Just to get a general idea of how many outdoor chess tables there are in North America I'm going to start by sharing a link about a listing I found of Toronto chess tables. I only started with Toronto because it's familiar to me and I happen to know this list is not complete.

The tables have been removed from the park at Queen and Church. Reading your list suggested that they have been moved a block north to the renovated St. Michael's and are operated by a chess organization?

Two weeks ago I watched a couple of games on a large set on King St., east of John, during the film festival. Last week I played on a regular set at the Polish Festival on Roncesvalles. Some other street festivals have games, but rarely chess. I think somebody (with a car to bring the large set) should set up an organization to go to all of Toronto's street festivals. 10/29/2022 04:11:24 pm
