Famous Bobby Fischer Tables near Venice Beach (actually close to Santa Monica pier), California. Lots of room for action.

This chess park is actually more than 50 years old. My cousin played there when he was in high school in the 1960's. Bobby Fischer played in monthly speed chess tournaments there with select master opponents from the late '70's to the early '80's.

Beginnings
I have started this discussion forum with the primary intent of featuring outdoor chess tables across the world (hopefully eventually with chess facilitators). However, other chess topics that appear here on chessfacetoface may also be discussed.

I want to be in touch with people around the world who share an interest of promoting chess at outdoor chess tables. And I also encourage readers who are travelling to take pictures of outdoor chess tables and share them here along with some commentary.
