Happy 90th Birthday Tony!

Happy 90th Birthday to Tony! The oldest outdoor regular in the world. Featured here with friend Chris.
I (Hans Jung) was facilitator at the Kitchener City Hall outdoor chess tables until the end of 2017. Tony was one of my daily regulars. When I retired Tony started in Victoria Park in the summer of 2018. He was there every day in the early evening (roughly 5 pm to 8pm). During Covid he maintained his daily routine (from 2020 to 2022) which established the Victoria Park outdoor chess activity, the only chess activity outdoors in Kitchener at the time. I owe a big debt to Tony for doing that.

Tony is an old school master craftsman. He has the only drive way in his neighborhood that is bricked in. The bricks are meticulously laid into the driveway. During the winter parts experienced upheaval. Every year Tony resets the bricks back in order. Who else would do that?
Tony likes German engineering quality - evidence his latest car - a VW.
The coffee mug says it all. Tony made me a coffee the old fashioned way (just like my grandmother used to make) - dump the grounds in a pot in cold water on the stove and heat until almost boiling over, lift and repeat, lift and repeat. A real taste sensation! Congratulations Tony - still a character at age 90, mentally sharp and physically spry! Happy Birthday!

    Beginnings
I have started this discussion forum with the primary intent of featuring outdoor chess tables across the world (hopefully eventually with chess facilitators). However, other chess topics that appear here on chessfacetoface may also be discussed.

I want to be in touch with people around the world who share an interest of promoting chess at outdoor chess tables. And I also encourage readers who are travelling to take pictures of outdoor chess tables and share them here along with some commentary.
