I used to work in Old Angelo´s Rest, just across, on Elm st. That was back in the 70 ,s. and , used to go at the end of my shift to play and watch. I remember a short man ( I believe polish lik him ) who used to come and walk back home with him , when he had finished playing. Play as you go and Crash gambit were his two openings .

    Beginnings
I have started this discussion forum with the primary intent of featuring outdoor chess tables across the world (hopefully eventually with chess facilitators). However, other chess topics that appear here on chessfacetoface may also be discussed.

I want to be in touch with people around the world who share an interest of promoting chess at outdoor chess tables. And I also encourage readers who are travelling to take pictures of outdoor chess tables and share them here along with some commentary.
